Chibamba Kanyama was born on 26th January, 1965 in Chikankata, Mazabuka, Zambia. He is a graduate of Mass Communications and Economics from the University of Zambia. He also holds an MSc in Development Finance obtained from the University of Reading, UK. His area of specialisation is investment advisory.

Mr Kanyama started his career as a television and radio producer/presenter for the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC). During his time at ZNBC, he trained at the Radio Netherlands Training Centre and the Geoffrey R. Conway School of Broadcasting at Burlington, Canada. He also won several awards such as the URTNA Nelson Mandela Africa Award for Best Radio producer.

He also worked for Zambia Institute of Mass Communications Trust as Broadcasting Manager for three years before moving on to Zambia State Insurance Corporation in 2002 where he worked as Director - Corporate Affairs until September, 2008. He now works for the Zambia Brewaries Group , a subsdiary of SABMiller in the same capacity. He is a business columnist in The Post newspaper, a television business presenter, currently on Muvi TV and also contributes business and financial articles to several professional magazines. He chairs and sits on several local and international boards on business, media and finance.

Mr. Kanyama has associated with the NSJ Training Trust as an economic and business trainer since 1999. He is a motivational speaker and regularly gets invited to address professional bodies, NGOs and other institutions. He is married to Eneless and has four children, Victor, Chisaya, Mutinta-Telma and Chibamba Jr.
